Ah, my first blog post. What should it be? Given the variety of photos I have taken with my iPhone®, I thought of it only fitting to start with the photo I use on my own computers as their screenshot. This particular photo was taken from my porch the evening of August 5, 2020, less than two months after our move to Oregon. It looks out at Black Butte through some tree clusters near the front of our property.
As time moved on, I started to take more and more pictures, and received more comments about them. People said they were different and organic. They could not believe how beautiful Oregon was. Several of my friends wanted to move to Oregon to enjoy its beauty, and many came to visit to see Oregon for themselves.
So that eventually became part of the genesis for “Oregon Calling” and the project “From My Back Porch”. It’s my way of sharing some of the wonderful things Central Oregon has to offer. Of course, I’m no professional photographer. But this is my story, so I invite you to join me in my journey to enjoy Oregon, see the pictures I like, and enjoy my ongoing perspective of this wonderful place.
